Vara’s Dry Cleaning

Like many small businesses, Vara’s had a solid service and wanted to expand their audience. They had very little digital presence and wanted to take an opportunity to re-work their overall brand.

Vara’s was due for a brand redesign to improve visibility and stand apart from the competition. This included a new logo, a new website, and printed collateral.

They wanted to include the hanger motif as a carryover from a prior logo. I was able to design this shape into brackets for their name while also creating a diamond profile, a symbol of excellent service.

Logo Redesign

Vara’s previous logo unfortunately didn’t translate very well from print to digital media.

I wanted the new logo to be a self-contained element. I took the hanger imagery from the original and flipped it into brackets. This calls to mind the shape of a diamond or a badge, both associated with excellent service and integrity. The result fits nicely into any layout while making a bold statement.

Web Design

Websites can make or break a small business. This is the entry point for any prospective customer. After we settled on a logo and brand voice, it was time to get to work.

The target customer base was wealthy working professionals. They needed to reach people who wear designer clothing and business attire regularly. I chose rich jewel tones for the clothing examples to create a sense of luxury.

Additionally, they wanted to utilize forward-thinking online scheduling to capture a wider audience.

Ready for Launch

It’s not often I get to build a brand from scratch, and this was one of my favorites. New logo for recognition, new website for customer base growth, and new business cards for the old-fashioned crowd.

Vara’s saw tremendous growth within a few months, and within a year more than doubled. They were able to expand their delivery service across more hours and distance.

All in all, I’d call this a success.
